Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End
I had a wonderful afternoon today as I was free from the ‘entanglement’ of the evil exam stress and most importantly I watch the much awaited movie of the year The Pirates of the Carri. The movie took off with a rather cruel scene which I don’t mind a bit. Then, there came the familiar face- Chow Yun Fatt, as Sao Feng, standing amongst the steam, saying “Welcome to Singapore!” to Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and beautiful Elizabeth (Keira Knightley in a Chinese costume.) The East India Trading Company invaded the place and the fellowship was on their way to save Captain Jack Sparrow who was at the Davy Jones’ lorker. The most hilarious part was when Jack having hallucination about the crew of the Black Pearl was all his miniatures. The ship was actually trapped in the midst of ice. A colony of stone-like crabs went to his aid; bringing the ship to the sea shore he met all his old friends. Jack managed to solve the riddle and brought them back to the true world. Other attractions in this sequel, include the convening of a Brethren's Court of the world's nine pirate lords; the 'resurrection' of the mythical sea nymph Calypso; the usual betrayals and treacheries; plus lots of sea-battle showdowns among Jack's ship, the Black Pearl, Davy Jones' Flying Dutchman and the vessels of the EIC. By the way, Jack somehow got to meet his much resemblance father. The last battle was just ok for me because what special effect can hold a candle to the great trilogy’s-TLOTR? However, I must say that Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann have the best kiss during the battle on the deck of the ship of this year’s movies. Depp had clearly done his magic in making the movie not just a stage for pretty faces (you know who I mean.) In a nutshell, it’s a movie that no one should miss and it’s easily the best of the trilogy. (Maybe there will be more because Jack stole Barbossa's map of the Fountain of Youth at the end.)
PS: Some Kluang audiences really have to learn how to respect a movie.
